CANADA SAFETY COUNCIL

ATV Rider Training

The ATV Rider’s course is 6-1/2 to 8 hour training program. The curriculum, which is based on field-tested techniques, provides a fun and orderly way to learn proper ATV operation. The rider learns about controls, reading terrain, turning and climbing hills.

Snowmobile Operators Course

The Snowmobile Operators Course is a 7 to 8 hour training program. The curriculum, which is based on field-tested techniques, provides a fun and orderly way to learn proper snowmobile operation. The rider learns about controls, reading terrain, turning and climbing hills.

Standard First Aid & CPR / AED

** All courses meet Occupational Health and Safety guidelines for Federally regulated work places. **

AED/CPR A
Presents the basic procedures for adult resuscitation and first aid. The course focuses on the immediate lifesaving measures that can be taken for an adult who is choking or suffering from a heart episode. Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training provides hands-on experience using the device on adults. 

AED/CPR B
This course covers all of the topics in the Level A, but includes procedures for dealing with resuscitation, first aid and heart episodes in children and infants.

AED/CPR C
This course covers all of the topics in Levels A & B for assisting adults, children and infants, but includes two rescuer procedures.

AED/CPR C Health Care Provider (HCP)
The course is designed for the Health Care professional. Topics include bag valve mask skills in addition to health care provider standards for the resuscitation of adults, children and infants.

Mental Health First Aid (Basic)

This course focuses on recognizing Mental Health Emergencies. It provides care givers with the tools to assist and refer people experiencing Mental Health challenges. Course content is set by the Mental Health Commission of Canada

Babysitting Basics

The course is aimed at 11-16 year olds interested in taking responsibility for younger children. Content in the 6.5-hour class includes safety practices, child care basics, introductory first aid and activities to try. Hands-on participation and skill development are the focus.

Home Alone

A 2.5-hour class designed to provide children aged 10-14 years with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time.
